About Us
Wise Jewelry was created in 2019 rooted in the desire to provide what was so hard for me to find, high quality and long-lasting jewelry.
How did Wise happen?
"I have always loved jewelry, even when I was little, I would at least have one piece of jewelry on me, a bracelet at least. As I grew older, I started wearing it more. In college, I was the girl with the BIG earrings, bracelet stacks, and 3 necklaces around my neck, even for the beach; I think I get it from my mom. But I realized that I couldn't find a lot of jewelry that would last me a long time and this was a constant topic between me and my friends, who also love jewelry. Five years forward and I said: "You know what? I'll just solve this myself!"
When did Wise Jewelry became public?
"The idea happened in 2018 and we finally launched in 2019. It took months to have everything in order. We took a break in 2020 until 2023, and now here we are."
Are you the creator and founder?
"Actually, the idea was mine, but there was so many people that made this happen in different ways and forms. So, I like to say that Wise Jewelry was created and founded by me, my grandmother Iris, my mom Laura, my aunt Tamara, my father Carlos, my partner Brandon, my best friend Lilli, and so many other people in my family. They contributed in different ways and continue to be my support and inspiration."
Why "Wise Jewelry" as the name?
"My name is Sofía and the meaning of it is "wisdom". Also, I was raised by very wise women who have taught me a lot about life. My dad has taught me so much too. Everything I do revolves around them. I think the name captures my life and the people in it."
What is something you would like people to know about the brand?
"More than a brand, is a purpose. For me, jewelry is a form of self expression. I get to project my personality through it. I am raw, unapologetic, free and I love really really hard. Its a way of talking about myself without actually vocalizing it and sounding cocky. It just makes me feel confident, you know? That is what I want for everybody. Waking up in the morning, getting ready, putting on their best outfit (jeans, t-shirt and messy bun counts lol), styling it with that WJ piece of jewelry that you just loooove and feeling themselves, and that's only possible when you stay true to your style and who you are, unapologetically. That is what Wise Jewelry is and will be!"
